Kokum butter is a hard butter that contains nutrients and antioxidants which help nourish and repair damaged, cracked skin. It is naturally flaky and brittle when at room temperature making it popular for its stability. Once it comes into contact with your skin it melts and absorbs easily leaving it feeling soft and moist without a greasy residue.
Kokum Butter can be used on its own though it is more popular as an ingredient and thickener in lotions, soaps and body butters. Kokum is a vegan butter and is safe for all skin types.
Kokum Butter is derived from the Garcinia Indica tree, native to India. It is extracted and mechanically refined without the use of chemicals or additives.
It is a white or off-white color. It has a mild to nonexistent odor.
Kokum is often used as a substitute for Cocoa Butter due to its similar texture and the fact that it has little to no scent.
This butter is particularly popular for its fast absorption and healing abilities.

Melt a pea size amount of the butter between your hands and apply to your face or body. You may also mix this into homemade skin care products.
When not in use store Kokum Butter sealed in its original packaging, or in a container such as a jar with a lid. Keep in a cool dry place, away from direct sunlight. If temperatures are above 75 degrees Fahrenheit, store in the fridge.

I absolutely love your Kokum Butter. That is why I went back and bought 5lbs this time. I just can't get enough. I really appreciate the price breaks as you buy larger quantities. For now, I am using this for just myself and a few friends and family. They absolutely love the rich soft and luxurious body butters I make with it. And it doesn't feel as greasy as the shea butter, although, I usually add some shea butter as well. I mean, who doesn't like shea butter too?
