DIY Vanilla Rose Bath Fizzies

Vanilla + Rose = amazing aromatherapy

We had lots of rose petals from the last DIY for Rose Face Mask, so we came up with a use for them: DIY Bath Fizzies!

These beauties have so many things going for them: dry rose petals, vanilla bean pulp, Rose and Vanilla essential oils – and most of all, they only require baking soda and citric acid, no need to also buy other powder ingredients that many bath bombs contain. We believe that simple is better.

What you’ll need

  • 1/2 cup dry rose petals
  • 1 cup baking soda
  • 1/2 cup citric acid
  • the pulp of 2 Vanilla beans
  • 20 drops of Rose Otto Essential Oil
  • 10 drops of Vanilla Essential Oil
  • a silicone mold or other mold used for bath bombs projects
  • water or witch hazel in a spray bottle

Steps to make Vanilla Rose Bath Fizzies

Crush the dry rose petals (or dry fresh rose petals for a few days in the sun or oven), then mix them in a bowl with baking soda and citric acid.

Carefully cut open the two vanilla beans, remove the vanilla pulp and add it to the bowl. You will need to “massage” and work in the vanilla pulp in the baking soda/citric acid in order to distribute it more or less evenly.

Add the essential oils on drop at a time, mixing and stirring everything in.

Using the spray bottle with water or witch hazel, do a couple of spritzes at a time, then mix with your hands. Continue spritzing a little liquid at a time until the powder holds together loosely – there is no need to add too much liquid, just enough to give some hold to your mix will be sufficient.

Compact your mixture in your molds. Compacting and pressing in the bath fizzies powder mix is key in having a final product that holds together and does not fall apart.

Set aside your bath fizzies for a few hours.

Gently pop them out of your mold and store in a glass container until ready for an awesome bath <3
