Cocoa Butter is a completely natural ingredient that will do wonders for your skin. This recipe was originally designed as a Belly Butter recipe for expecting moms to prevent stretch marks. It quickly turned into one of our most popular recipes because cocoa butter is good for a variety of things including diminishing stretch marks, scars, fine lines and dark spots. It also helps relieve and heal skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis.

About Cocoa Butter
Cocoa butter, also called theobroma oil, is a pale-yellow or light brown solid fat extracted from the cocoa bean, primarily grown and harvested in North America. Cocoa beans are removed from the large cacao plant, they are then roasted, stripped and pressed to separate out the fat, known as cocoa butter.
This butter is rich in antioxidants, vitamins and fatty acids that deeply penetrate the layers of skin to moisturize, improve elasticity and protect it. Its properties make it effective in smoothing or diminishing scars, wrinkles and stretch marks. It also helps relieve and heal skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis.
Shea Butter is a comparable product in terms of effectiveness on healing skin conditions, we compare the two butters in this article.
Cocoa Butter is a very hard butter and smells like delicious rich chocolate. It has a melting point of 88 -101 ° F so melts at skin temperature.
Our Cocoa Butter is 100% pure, unrefined, fair trade and cruelty-free. This is a vegan friendly ingredient.
Here is what it looks like:

How to use Cocoa Butter on your skin
Because Cocoa Butter melts at skin temperature, it can be applied on its own as a skin moisturizer by warming a piece of it in your hands and then spreading it onto the desired area of your body.
It can also be used in skin care recipes, to make body butters, balms, salves, soaps and more. With cocoa butter being one of the main effective ingredients in belly butter, stretch mark and scar creams on the market today (but only included in a small percentage), you can see why using this to make your own creams in a much higher concentration would do wonders for the skin.
